The Yukon Zip Locker for Dana 60, part number YZLD60-3-35, is an air-operated selectable locker for Dana Spicer 60 axles with 35 spline shafts and 4.10 and down gearing.
Fitment
- Dana Spicer 60 with 35 spline axles
- Ratio: 4.10 and down only. This is the 3-series carrier. Higher ratios with 35 spline use YZLD60-4-35 instead.
- Narrow case locker. On a wide housing, Yukon says to order two DS 42563 with it.
- Not compatible with c-clip axles
How it works
The Zip Locker is an open differential until you flip the switch, and then it locks 100 percent. That gives you street manners most of the time and full lockup when the trail calls for it. Yukon lists it as ABS compatible, built with a forged case and 8620 internals, assembled in the USA, and compatible with a variety of air delivery systems.
Air supply and controls
You need an on-board air system or compressor to run it, and a solenoid and switch to control it. Yukon's install kit YZLIK-01 has the switch, solenoid, bulkhead fitting and 20 feet of air line. Yukon does not list those items as part of this locker, so budget for them.
Check before you order
- Ring gear ratio must be 4.10 or lower.
- Axle shafts must be 35 spline, and not c-clip.
- Confirm whether your housing is narrow or wide case.
Yukon lists a six-year warranty on Zip Lockers, with conditions. California Proposition 65 warning: this product can expose you to chemicals including arsenic, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer.
