5.13 is the numerically highest ratio in this group of JK rear sets, so it gives the most gear reduction.

Check before you order

• This is the rear set. The Rubicon front Dana 44 uses a reverse rotation, short pinion set instead (the D44RS series), so it is not a match for the front.
• Front and rear ratios have to match. If the front axle is already geared to 5.13 you are set, otherwise plan to do both.
• Confirm the rear axle is the Dana 44 with a 24-spline pinion before you buy.

What's included

Ring gear and pinion only. Bearings, the crush sleeve eliminator, the pinion install kit and hardware are not part of the set.

Installation

One retailer estimates about 6 hours and calls for mechanical expertise or professional installation. Setting pinion depth, backlash and contact pattern correctly is what makes the job.
