Package

This is the Adventure-X mid-arm lift for the Wrangler JL (2-door), built for Sport and Sahara owners who want a complete 4.5 inch kit that bolts in. The name comes from the control arms: eight adjustable arms, each one fitted with Rock Krawler's Adventure Series joints, which are 100% service free. No grease gun, no zerks, no maintenance schedule.

If you want service-free arms, real articulation and a wide tuning range on a Sport or Sahara, this is the kit that does it. Rock Krawler also lists it as upgradable to its long arm system, so the lift does not box you in later.

What's in the kit

The base kit, as Rock Krawler lists it:

  • Eight adjustable control arms with Adventure Series joints (adjustable upper and lower arms, front and rear)
  • (4) triple-rate coil springs
  • (2) front and (2) rear spring pads
  • (1) adjustable front track bar
  • (1) Gen-II front sway bar kit
  • (2) set-length rear sway bar links
  • (1) bolt-on rear track bar relocation bracket
  • Bump stops with every shock option (not included with the base system)

The coilover packages (Comp) swap in front shock towers and brackets, and keep two rear triple-rate coil springs with rear spring correction seats.

Why this system

  • Eight adjustable arms. Adjustable uppers and lowers let you dial in caster and pinion angle front and rear instead of accepting whatever the factory geometry gives you.
  • Service-free joints. Adventure Series joints at every arm connection never need grease.
  • Lots of misalignment. With Adventure Series joints at both the frame and the axle, the arms offer a total of 70 degrees of misalignment, which cuts the bind you get from a factory JL arm.
  • Triple-rate coils. All four coils work together, and Rock Krawler says the on-road comfort beats the factory linear-rate springs while the free length still suits off-road articulation.
  • Corrected geometry. Spring pads reduce the spring bow built into the factory setup, and the track bar geometry corrections front and rear let you center the axles.
  • Room to grow. Rock Krawler lists this system as upgradable to its long arm system.

Pick your package

The Package option sets the shocks.

  • Base System (No Shocks). Kit only, for buyers who already have shocks picked out. Bump stops ship with every shock option; with no shocks they are sold separately (Rock Krawler lists them as RK07124). Generic shock lengths for the gas kits: front 18.31 inches collapsed and 30.31 extended, rear 19 collapsed and 31 extended.
  • Bilstein 5100 Shocks. Maintenance-free shocks that Rock Krawler calls a great pairing with its multi-rate coil springs.
  • Stage 1 Shocks (RRD 2.25 IFP). Rock Krawler's in-house shocks: a 2.25 inch hard anodized fluted aluminum body with the cooling surface area of a 2.5 inch shock, a 3/4 inch hard chrome stainless shaft and dual DU shaft bearings. Serviceable, rebuildable and revalveable.
  • Comp Coilover Stage 1 and Stage 2. The Comp System runs 2 5/8 inch RRD racing coilovers with remote reservoirs up front and matching 2 5/8 inch RRD shocks with remote reservoirs in the rear, with coil springs still holding up the back, so it can still carry small loads or tow a small trailer. Stage 2 adds Fast CD (compression damping) adjusters. Rock Krawler lists 14.4 inches of front axle travel and 13.9 inches of rear axle travel.

Fitment and what else you'll need

  • Fits 2018 and newer Jeep Wrangler JL 2-door models, Sport and Sahara (non-Rubicon), gas.
  • Rock Krawler's tire guidance for Sport and Sahara models: 37 inch tires with full OEM fenders, or 38 inch tires with trimmed or high-lined fenders, at a 3 inch bump stop height with 3.5 inches of backspacing.
  • Lift heights are based on a standard Rubicon build (front bumper and winch, rear bumper and full-size spare). Rock Krawler suggests dropping 1 inch of rear coil lift if you delete the spare, and going up 1 inch if you load the back for an overland-style build.
  • A new front driveshaft is recommended if you wheel the Jeep routinely.
  • The coilover packages need fabrication: the listing calls for removing the factory shock mount on the frame and the shock and spring mount on the axle, and welding the new coilover mount to the axle.

Rock Krawler lists lifetime warranty coverage on the system itself, and its RRD shocks carry a separate 6 month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
