Package

The Rock Krawler Adventure X No Limits is a complete bolt-in 3.5 inch mid-arm system for the 4-door Wrangler JLU 4xe. It has eight adjustable control arms with service-free Adventure Series joints, good for 70 degrees of misalignment according to Rock Krawler, so you can tune caster and pinion angle front and rear. The No Limits name comes from the front sway bar link kit built to work with the factory electronic sway bar disconnect that comes standard on a Rubicon. Press the button and the front bar lets go, so you get the extra flex without touching a wrench.

Ride quality is the other half of the job. Rock Krawler's triple-rate coils are tuned so the Jeep rides better on the road than it does on the factory linear-rate springs, correction pads reduce the spring bow built into the stock setup, and the track bar geometry corrections let you center the axles so handling does not suffer. The base and shock packages bolt in; the coilover packages need some welding (details below).

What's in the kit

Included with the base and shock packages:

  • 4 triple-rate coil springs
  • 2 front adjustable high clearance lower control arms
  • 2 front adjustable upper control arms
  • 2 front spring pads
  • 1 adjustable front track bar
  • 2 No Limits front sway bar links
  • 2 rear adjustable high clearance lower control arms
  • 2 rear adjustable upper control arms
  • 2 rear spring pads
  • 2 adjustable rear sway bar links
  • 1 bolt-on rear track bar relocation bracket

The coilover packages (Comp and Trail Runner) use a different spring and shock layout, so their parts list differs. Rock Krawler lists these items for the coilover packages: 2 rear triple-rate coil springs.

Why this system

  • Eight adjustable arms, zero grease. Adventure Series joints at the frame and axle give 70 degrees of misalignment and never need service.
  • Triple-rate coils. Tuned for on-road comfort, with the free length to stay seated in the bucket through full articulation (with a proper length shock installed).
  • Lean correction. Correction pads cancel the spring bow in the factory setup, so the Jeep sits level on all four corners.
  • Adjustable track bars, improved rear roll center. Adjustable front and rear track bars and a bolt-on rear track bar relocation bracket let you center the axles after the lift so on-road handling stays predictable.
  • Upgrade path. Rock Krawler lists the system as upgradable to its long arm system later.
  • No Limits sway bar links. Built for the factory electronic sway bar disconnect on Rubicon Wranglers. Billet aluminum center section and Made in USA FK Bearing heim joints.
  • Lifetime warranty coverage. Rock Krawler lists lifetime warranty coverage on the system.

Pick your package

The control arms, track bars and hardware are the same Rock Krawler Adventure X No Limits Mid-Arm kit in every package. The package decides your shocks and, for the coilover packages, the spring layout.

  • Base System (No Shocks): The full kit with no shocks, for builders who already have shocks picked out. Bump stops come with every shock option but not with this one; Rock Krawler sells them separately as RK07124.
  • Bilstein 5100 Shocks: Adds Bilstein 5100 shocks. Rock Krawler calls them a great pairing with its multi-rate coil springs and they are maintenance free. Bump stops are included.
  • Stage 1 (RRD 2.25 IFP Shocks): Adds Rock Krawler's own RRD 2.25 inch IFP shocks, designed and built in-house: hard anodized fluted aluminum body (2.25 inch O.D., with the cooling surface of a 2.5 inch shock), 3/4 inch 17-4 PH stainless steel hard chrome shaft, billet aluminum valving, dual DU shaft bearings and double redundant sealing. Serviceable, rebuildable and revalveable. Rock Krawler lists generic shock lengths of 17.5 inches collapsed / 29.5 extended in front and 18.5 / 30.5 in the rear. Bump stops are included.
  • Comp Coilover Stage 1: Coilovers in front, coil springs in the rear: RRD 2.625 inch RR coilovers with remote reservoirs up front (12 inch travel, 13.3 inches of front axle travel) and matching RRD 2.625 inch remote reservoir shocks in the rear (11.5 inch travel, 12.8 inches of rear axle travel). Rock Krawler pitches the Comp System at drivers who want coilover racing shocks up front but still carry small loads or tow small trailers.
  • Comp Coilover Stage 2 (Fast CD): The Stage 1 Comp layout with Fast CD (compression damping) adjusters on the front coilovers and rear shocks (RRD 2.625 inch FCD) for finer tuning. Travel figures match Stage 1.

Fitment and what else you'll need

  • Fits the 4-door Wrangler JLU 4xe, Rubicon trims, 4WD.
  • Rock Krawler lists the engine option for this kit as 4XE.
  • Wheels - Rubicon: 37 inch tall tires - recommend 4.5 inch of back spacing; 40 inch tall tires - recommend 3.5 inch of back spacing
  • Tires - Rubicon with full OEM fenders: 37/38 inch tall tires (3 inch bump stop height recommended)
  • Tires - Rubicon with trimmed or high lined OEM fenders: 40 inch tall tires (3 inch bump stop height recommended)
  • Lift height: Rock Krawler bases lift heights on Rubicon models in a standard build (front bumper and winch, rear bumper, full-size spare). With a spare delete, drop 1 inch of rear coil lift height; for a heavily upfitted rear, go up 1 inch.
  • Installation and setup notes from Rock Krawler: We recommend a new front driveshaft if you plan to off-road routinely. (Adam's Driveshaft, Tom Woods, J.E. Reel).
  • Coilover package notes: Requires removal of the OEM shock mount of frame. Requires removal of the OEM shock and spring mount of the axle. Requires welding of the new coilover mount on the axle only.
