The shortest full hydraulic ram on Howe's list: a 2.25-inch bore, 6-inch size, and double-ended so the rod comes out both sides. A fit for axles that don't need much steering throw.
- Bore: 2.25 inches
- Size: 6
- Double-ended
- System: standard and hi-volume
Full hydraulic steering has no mechanical link between the wheel and the axle, so the ram has to match your axle. Howe's advice is to measure how far the axle travels side to side, pick the ram first, then the pump, and make sure the ram stops at the same moment the axle does. Howe lists this ram for both its standard (recreation) and hi-volume (race) systems.
