The Advance Adapters RubiCrawler with Universal Shifter fits 2003-2011 Jeep TJ and JK Wrangler with the 42RLE automatic overdrive transmission. This reduction unit replaces the stock 42RLE tailhousing with a 6-gear planetary reduction box featuring a 2.72:1 low range. It is a true bolt-in doubler that couples to the stock Jeep transfer case or an existing Atlas transfer case.
The RubiCrawler multiplies your available gear ratios for maximum crawl control. Choosing the right gear for the terrain gives you far more control over your vehicle, making extreme off-road environments safer and more enjoyable.
The universal shifter kit (42R-UNIV) is compatible with both TJ and JK Wrangler applications across three configurations.
TJ Wrangler with stock transfer case — for customers installing the RubiCrawler with the factory NP231 or NP241OR transfer cases.
JK Wrangler with Heavy Duty Transfer Case Shift Kit — for JK Wrangler customers. The shifter in this kit upgrades your transfer case shift cable and cable connections to heavy duty heim joint style connections. Includes RubiCrawler Electronic Interface (42R800) and Anodized Billet Aluminum Knobs (42R650).
TJ or JK Wrangler with non-stock transfer case — for customers installing the RubiCrawler with an aftermarket transfer case such as the Advance Adapters Atlas Transfer Case.
Kit includes: Universal RubiCrawler Shifter (42R-UNIV) and RubiCrawler 2.72:1 Unit.
