The Advance Adapters 3/4" Spacer/Rotation Ring (SKU AS-8603) solves a specific fitment problem that shows up on a lot of Atlas transfer case conversions: transmission output shafts that stick out too far past the edge of the rear tailhousing or adapter.
That extra length, sometimes called a "positive stick-out," causes the output shaft to bottom out when you try to install the Atlas. The usual fix is trimming the output shaft down to length, and that works for a lot of applications. But on some transmissions, there simply aren't enough splines on the main shaft to allow for trimming without losing engagement, and on others you may not want to modify the output shaft at all. That's where this spacer comes in — it adds 3/4" of clearance without touching the shaft itself.
