Configuration

This is the long arm option in the 4.5 inch lineup, built for the Rubicon Wrangler JLU (4-door). The Adventure X2 Pro Elite No Limits system pairs a high clearance 4-link front suspension with a high clearance independent 3-link rear, and the lower arms are billet aluminum, CNC machined, in a long arm length. Rock Krawler's name for that level is PB&J, and the arms are service free, so the greasing stops.

Rock Krawler built it as the ultimate compromise between a daily driver and a hard-core off-roader, and the X2 rear geometry is a big part of that: new high clearance axle mounts gain 4.5 inches of ground clearance under the rear axle compared to stock, and the rear upper shock relocation brackets keep you from losing any shock or suspension travel. This is a weld-in kit, so plan on a shop with a welder.

What's in the kit

The base kit, as Rock Krawler lists it:

  • (1) weld-on front long-arm mounting system
  • (1) Heat Shield Products Sticky Shield kit
  • (1) front adjustable anti-wobble track bar
  • (4) billet 7075 lower control arms
  • (4) adjustable upper control arms
  • (1) "No Limits" front sway bar disconnect kit
  • (4) triple-rate coil springs and (4) spring correction seats (base and shock-only packages)
  • (2) weld-on rear frame side long arm mounts, (1) rear upper control arm and (1) rear frame side upper control arm mount
  • (2) rear extended sway bar links
  • (1) rear adjustable anti-wobble track bar and (1) weld-on rear track bar mount
  • (2) weld-on rear upper shock mounts, (2) weld-on rear axle side control arm mounts and (1) weld-on rear axle truss
  • (2) rear brake line relocation brackets

Why this system

  • Billet 7075 lower arms. Four CNC machined billet aluminum lowers in a long arm length, paired with four adjustable uppers.
  • Service-free Adventure Series joints. Every arm uses one. The joint isolates road vibration about like an OE bushing, has high misalignment, and the steel sleeve spins on a Teflon-lined inner sleeve so the bushing material is never twisted or compressed when you tighten the arm.
  • Full high clearance design. 4-link long arm in front, independent 3-link long arm in the rear.
  • X2 rear geometry. Enhanced rear instant and roll centers, adjustable rear anti-squat, and 4.5 inches of extra rear axle ground clearance.
  • Joint protection. A Heat Shield Sticky Shield kit gives the front control arm joints at the frame the same kind of thermal barrier the factory uses.
  • "No Limits" disconnect kit. The billet front sway bar end links pair with the factory Rubicon E-Disconnect, so the suspension stays bind free in rough terrain.
  • Anti-wobble track bars. Adjustable front and rear units come in the box.

Pick your package

The Package option sets the shocks. The Configuration option matches the kit to your drivetrain.

  • Base System (No Shocks). Kit only, for buyers who already have shocks picked out. Bump stops ship with every shock option; with no shocks they are sold separately (Rock Krawler lists them as RK07124). Generic shock lengths for the gas, diesel and 4xe kits: front 18.31 inches collapsed and 30.31 extended, rear 19 collapsed and 31 extended.
  • Bilstein 5100 Shocks. Maintenance-free shocks that Rock Krawler calls a great pairing with its multi-rate coil springs.
  • Stage 1 Shocks (RRD 2.25 IFP). Rock Krawler's in-house shocks: a 2.25 inch hard anodized fluted aluminum body with the cooling surface area of a 2.5 inch shock, a 3/4 inch hard chrome stainless shaft and dual DU shaft bearings. Serviceable, rebuildable and revalveable.
  • Comp Coilover Stage 1 and Stage 2. The Comp System runs 2 5/8 inch RRD racing coilovers with remote reservoirs up front and matching 2 5/8 inch RRD shocks with remote reservoirs in the rear, with coil springs still holding up the back, so it can still carry small loads or tow a small trailer. Stage 2 adds Fast CD (compression damping) adjusters. Rock Krawler lists 14.4 inches of front axle travel and 13.9 inches of rear axle travel.
  • Trail Runner Coilover Stage 1 and Stage 2. Coilovers at all four corners, with 2 5/8 inch RRD racing coilovers and remote reservoirs. Stage 2 adds Fast CD (compression damping) adjusters. Rock Krawler says it maximizes off-road ability and comes well tuned for the street, but rear coilovers handle changing loads poorly, so towing or hauling a lot of weight in the bed is not ideal.

Fitment and what else you'll need

  • Fits 2018 and newer Jeep Wrangler JLU 4-door models, Rubicon. Choose the Configuration that matches your Jeep: gas, diesel, 392.
  • 392 kits: Rock Krawler notes that JLU 392 lift heights sit above Jeep's factory lifts, so ride height ends up about 1 inch taller than a same-lift V6 Wrangler Rubicon.
  • Rock Krawler's tire guidance for Rubicon models: 37 or 38 inch tires with full OEM fenders, and 40 inch tires with trimmed or high-lined fenders, both at a 3 inch bump stop height. Recommended backspacing is 4.5 inches for 37s and 3.5 inches for 40s.
  • Lift heights are based on a standard Rubicon build (front bumper and winch, rear bumper and full-size spare). Rock Krawler suggests dropping 1 inch of rear coil lift if you delete the spare, and going up 1 inch if you load the back for an overland-style build.
  • This is a weld-in system. Rock Krawler's listing calls for welding the front and rear long arm mounts, removing the OEM frame side control arm mounts (lower and upper, front and rear) and the OEM axle side rear lower control arm and track bar mounts, and modifying the OEM rear shock mounts to weld in the raised rear upper shock mounts.
  • The coilover packages also call for modifying the OEM front shock mounts.
  • Rock Krawler recommends a new front C.V. driveshaft for any front shock with a maximum extended length over 29 inches, and limiting straps to keep the suspension from over-extending once the Jeep is set up.

Rock Krawler lists lifetime warranty coverage on the system itself, and its RRD shocks carry a separate 6 month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
