Package

The Rock Krawler X Factor Pro Elite is a complete bolt-in 3.5 inch mid-arm system for the 2-door Wrangler JL. The lower control arms are Rock Krawler's signature PB+J mid-arms (Pure Beef and Jealousy), machined from 2 inch by 3 inch billet 7075 aluminum, and the other four arms are machined from round 7075 aluminum with the X Factor design built in. That works out to 95 degrees of misalignment and full control over caster and pinion angle.

Ride quality is the other half of the job. Rock Krawler's triple-rate coils are tuned so the Jeep rides better on the road than it does on the factory linear-rate springs, correction pads reduce the spring bow built into the stock setup, and the track bar geometry corrections let you center the axles so handling does not suffer. The base and shock packages bolt in; the coilover packages need some welding (details below).

What's in the kit

Included with the base and shock packages:

  • 4 triple-rate coil springs
  • 2 front billet 7075 aluminum adjustable lower control arms
  • 2 front 7075 aluminum adjustable upper control arms
  • 1 adjustable front track bar
  • 2 Gen-II sway bar links
  • 2 rear billet 7075 aluminum adjustable lower control arms
  • 2 rear 7075 aluminum adjustable upper control arms
  • 2 adjustable rear sway bar links
  • 1 bolt-on rear track bar relocation bracket
  • 1 rear adjustable track bar

The coilover packages (Comp and Trail Runner) use a different spring and shock layout, so their parts list differs. Rock Krawler lists these items for the coilover packages: 2 rear triple-rate coil springs; 2 spring correction seats; shock towers and brackets.

Why this system

  • 95 degrees of misalignment. X Factor adjustable arms, with Pro Krawler joints at the axle and Adventure Series joints at the frame, take most of the factory bind out of the suspension.
  • Billet PB+J lower arms. Lower arms machined from 2 inch by 3 inch billet 7075 aluminum, with the remaining four arms machined from round 7075 aluminum.
  • Triple-rate coils. Tuned for on-road comfort, with the free length to stay seated in the bucket through full articulation (with a proper length shock installed).
  • Lean correction. Correction pads cancel the spring bow in the factory setup, so the Jeep sits level on all four corners.
  • Adjustable track bars, improved rear roll center. Adjustable front and rear track bars and a bolt-on rear track bar relocation bracket let you center the axles after the lift so on-road handling stays predictable.
  • Upgrade path. Rock Krawler lists the system as upgradable to its long arm system later.
  • Gen-II front sway bar links. Included with the kit.
  • Lifetime warranty coverage. Rock Krawler lists lifetime warranty coverage on the system.

Pick your package

The control arms, track bars and hardware are the same Rock Krawler X Factor Pro Elite Mid-Arm kit in every package. The package decides your shocks and, for the coilover packages, the spring layout.

  • Base System (No Shocks): The full kit with no shocks, for builders who already have shocks picked out. Bump stops come with every shock option but not with this one; Rock Krawler sells them separately as RK07124.
  • Bilstein 5100 Shocks: Adds Bilstein 5100 shocks. Rock Krawler calls them a great pairing with its multi-rate coil springs and they are maintenance free. Bump stops are included.
  • Stage 1 (RRD 2.25 IFP Shocks): Adds Rock Krawler's own RRD 2.25 inch IFP shocks, designed and built in-house: hard anodized fluted aluminum body (2.25 inch O.D., with the cooling surface of a 2.5 inch shock), 3/4 inch 17-4 PH stainless steel hard chrome shaft, billet aluminum valving, dual DU shaft bearings and double redundant sealing. Serviceable, rebuildable and revalveable. Rock Krawler lists generic shock lengths of 17.5 inches collapsed / 29.5 extended in front and 18.5 / 30.5 in the rear. Bump stops are included.
  • Comp Coilover Stage 1: Coilovers in front, coil springs in the rear: RRD 2.625 inch RR coilovers with remote reservoirs up front (12 inch travel, 13.3 inches of front axle travel) and matching RRD 2.625 inch remote reservoir shocks in the rear (11.5 inch travel, 12.8 inches of rear axle travel). Rock Krawler pitches the Comp System at drivers who want coilover racing shocks up front but still carry small loads or tow small trailers.
  • Comp Coilover Stage 2 (Fast CD): The Stage 1 Comp layout with Fast CD (compression damping) adjusters on the front coilovers and rear shocks (RRD 2.625 inch FCD) for finer tuning. Travel figures match Stage 1.

Fitment and what else you'll need

  • Fits the 2-door Wrangler JL (2018 to present), Sport, Sahara, High Altitude and Willys trims, gas models, 4WD.
  • Engines listed by Rock Krawler: 2.0L 4 cylinder turbo, 3.6L Pentastar V6, and 3.6L Pentastar with eTorque.
  • Wheels - Sport and Sahara: 37/38 inch tall tires - recommend 3.5 inch of back spacing
  • Tires - Sport and Sahara with full OEM fenders: 37 inch tall tires (3 inch bump stop height recommended)
  • Tires - Sport and Sahara with trimmed or high lined OEM fenders: 38 inch tall tires (3 inch bump stop height recommended)
  • Lift height: Rock Krawler bases lift heights on Rubicon models in a standard build (front bumper and winch, rear bumper, full-size spare). With a spare delete, drop 1 inch of rear coil lift height; for a heavily upfitted rear, go up 1 inch.
  • Installation and setup notes from Rock Krawler: We recommend a new front driveshaft if you plan to off-road routinely. (Adam's Driveshaft, Tom Woods, J.E. Reel). We recommend welding the rear cradle for use with 37 inch tires and above.
  • Coilover package notes: Requires removal of the OEM shock mount of frame. Requires removal of the OEM shock and spring mount of the axle. Requires welding of the new coilover mount on the axle only.
