Jeep made a full long arm front end impractical on 2018 and newer 2-doors, because the new fuel tank runs up and over the crossmember to the factory front lower control arm mount. Rock Krawler's answer is the T-Rex hybrid: a full high-clearance mid arm front paired with its ultra-high-clearance 3-link rear conversion. You keep the gas tank where Jeep put it and get the rear suspension that matters most off-road, with X2 geometry, adjustable anti-squat and Adventure Series joints in every control arm.

What's in the kit

  • (4) Triple-rate coil springs
  • (4) Spring correction seats
  • (1) Front adjustable anti-wobble track bar
  • (1) Front sway bar disconnect kit
  • (2) Front high-clearance adjustable lower control arms
  • (2) Front adjustable upper control arms
  • (2) High-clearance lower long arms
  • (2) Rear extended sway bar links
  • (1) Rear upper control arm
  • (2) Rear lower control arms
  • (1) Rear long arm mount kit
  • (1) Rear upper frame mount
  • (1) Rear track bar mount
  • (1) Rear adjustable track bar
  • (1) Rear axle truss
  • (1) Rear brake line mount kit
  • (2) Rear shock mounts

Shocks depend on the package you pick below. Bump stops come with every shock option; if you go with no shocks they can be ordered separately (Rock Krawler part RK07124).

Why this system

  • Full high-clearance 4-link mid arm front suspension paired with a 3-link long arm rear.
  • The 3-link rear with a track bar removes the natural bind of the factory parallel 4-link rear, so the axle moves without jacking.
  • X2 rear geometry gains 4.5 inches of clearance under the rear axle without giving up rear shock travel, raises the rear roll center and adds adjustable anti-squat.
  • Every control arm uses Adventure Series joints, so there is nothing to grease.
  • Triple-rate coil springs with correction seats for a comfortable ride on the street.
  • Lifetime warranty coverage.

Pick your package

  • Base System (No Shocks). The kit as listed above with no shocks, for the builder who already has shocks picked out. Bump stops come with every shock option; with this one they're ordered separately.
  • Bilstein 5100 Shocks. The kit plus Bilstein 5100 shocks. Rock Krawler calls them maintenance free and a great pairing with its multi-rate coil springs.
  • Stage 1 (RRD 2.25 inch IFP shocks). Rock Krawler's in-house shock: a 2.25 inch hard anodized fluted aluminum body with the cooling surface of a 2.5 inch shock, a 3/4 inch hard chrome stainless steel shaft, billet aluminum valving and dual DU shaft bearings. Serviceable, rebuildable and revalveable.
  • Coilover Comp System, Stage 1. Coilovers up front, coil springs and a shock in the rear: 2.625 inch RRD racing coilovers with remote reservoirs up front (12 inches of travel, about 13.3 inches of front axle travel) and matching 2.625 inch RRD racing shocks in the rear (11.5 inches of travel, about 12.8 inches of rear axle travel). Rock Krawler pitches it at owners who want coilover adjustability but still carry small loads or tow small trailers. Includes (2) triple-rate coil springs and (2) correction seats.
  • Coilover Comp System, Stage 2 (Fast CD). The same Comp System layout and travel as Stage 1, with Fast CD (compression damping) adjusters on the coilovers and the rear shocks for more tuning range.
  • Coilover Trail Runner, Stage 1. Coilovers at all four corners: 2.625 inch RRD racing coilovers with remote reservoirs front and rear (12 inches of front travel, 11 inches in the rear). Rock Krawler notes rear coilovers don't take changing loads as well, so heavy towing or a loaded bed isn't ideal.
  • Coilover Trail Runner, Stage 2 (Fast CD). The Trail Runner layout with Fast CD (compression damping) adjusters on the coilovers for even more tuneability.

Fitment and what else you'll need

Fits the 2018 and newer Jeep Wrangler JL (2-door): gas models with the 2.0L turbo four-cylinder, the 3.6L Pentastar V6 or the 3.6L Pentastar with eTorque.

Rock Krawler bases all lift heights on Rubicon models in a standard build (front bumper and winch, rear bumper and full-size spare). If you delete the spare, drop 1 inch of rear coil lift height; for an overland or heavily loaded rear build, go up 1 inch.

  • Sport and Sahara: for 37 and 38 inch tall tires, Rock Krawler recommends 3.5 inches of backspacing. With full OEM fenders that means 37 inch tires; with trimmed or high-lined fenders, 38 inch tires (3 inch bump stop height recommended).
  • Rubicon: 37 inch tall tires want 4.5 inches of backspacing and 40 inch tall tires want 3.5 inches. With full OEM fenders, 37 or 38 inch tires fit; with trimmed or high-lined fenders, 40 inch tires fit (3 inch bump stop height recommended).
  • Requires welding of the rear long arm mounts.
  • Requires removing the OEM frame side upper and lower rear control arm mounts and the OEM axle side rear lower control arm and track bar mounts.
  • Requires modifying the OEM rear shock mounts and welding on the raised rear upper shock mounts.
  • Rock Krawler recommends a new front C.V. driveshaft for any front shock with a max extended length over 29 inches.
  • Limiting straps are recommended once the vehicle is set up, to avoid over-extending suspension components.

Rock Krawler lists lifetime warranty coverage on this system. Posted lead times from Rock Krawler, in business days from order: mid arm kits 1 to 2 weeks, long arm kits 3 to 4 weeks, 2.25 inch shocks 1 to 2 weeks and 2.625 inch shocks or coilovers 3 to 4 weeks.
