Package

The Rock Krawler Adventure X2 Pro Elite No Limits is the top of the Adventure X2 long arm line for the 4-door Wrangler JLU diesel. Pro Elite means four CNC machined billet 7075 aluminum lower control arms in long arm length, all service free, on top of the high clearance 4 link front and independent 3 link rear that define the X2. The No Limits name comes from the front sway bar link kit built to work with the factory electronic sway bar disconnect that comes standard on a Rubicon. Press the button and the front bar lets go, so you get the extra flex without touching a wrench.

The X2 rear axle brackets add 4.5 inches of ground clearance under the rear axle compared to stock, and the rear upper shock relocation brackets keep your shock and suspension travel intact. Triple-rate coils keep the road ride comfortable. This is a weld-on system, so plan on fab time or a shop that does the welding.

What's in the kit

Included with the base and shock packages:

  • 1 weld-on front long-arm mounting system
  • 1 heat Shield Products Sticky Shield kit
  • 1 front adjustable anti-wobble track bar
  • 4 billet 7075 lower control arms
  • 4 adjustable upper control arms
  • 1 No Limits front sway bar disconnect kit
  • 4 triple-rate coil springs
  • 4 spring correction seats
  • 2 weld-on rear frame side long arm mounts
  • 1 rear upper control arm
  • 1 rear frame side upper control arm mount
  • 2 rear extended sway bar links
  • 1 rear adjustable anti-wobble track bar
  • 2 weld-on rear upper shock mount
  • 2 weld-on rear axle side control arm mount
  • 1 weld-on rear track bar mount
  • 1 weld-on rear axle truss
  • 2 rear brake line relocation brackets

The coilover packages (Comp and Trail Runner) use a different spring and shock layout, so their parts list differs. Rock Krawler lists these items for the coilover packages: front upper shocks mounts; rear triple-rate coil springs in Comp systems; rear spring correction seats in Comp systems.

Why this system

  • Long arm geometry, daily-driver manners. A high clearance 4 link front and independent 3 link rear, which Rock Krawler designed as the compromise between highway handling and hard-core trail ability.
  • Service-free joints. Rock Krawler's Adventure Series joint is in every control arm: it isolates road vibration like an OE bushing, allows high misalignment, and never needs grease.
  • More clearance and travel. The X2 axle bracket system gains 4.5 inches of rear clearance, and the relocated upper shock mounts keep your shock travel.
  • Adjustable rear anti-squat. X2 geometry gives you adjustment over how the rear sits under power.
  • Front joint protection. A Heat Shield Products Sticky Shield kit is included to protect the front control arm joints at the frame with a thermal barrier.
  • Anti-wobble track bars. Adjustable front and rear track bars are in the box, along with an extended rear sway bar link set and rear brake line relocation brackets.
  • Billet lower arms. Four CNC machined 7075 billet aluminum lower control arms, in long arm length and service free.
  • No Limits sway bar kit. Built for the factory electronic sway bar disconnect on Rubicon Wranglers.
  • Lifetime warranty coverage. Rock Krawler lists lifetime warranty coverage on the system.

Pick your package

The control arms, track bars and hardware are the same Rock Krawler Adventure X2 Pro Elite No Limits Long Arm kit in every package. The package decides your shocks and, for the coilover packages, the spring layout.

  • Base System (No Shocks): The full kit with no shocks, for builders who already have shocks picked out. Bump stops come with every shock option but not with this one; Rock Krawler sells them separately as RK07124.
  • Bilstein 5100 Shocks: Adds Bilstein 5100 shocks. Rock Krawler calls them a great pairing with its multi-rate coil springs and they are maintenance free. Bump stops are included.
  • Stage 1 (RRD 2.25 IFP Shocks): Adds Rock Krawler's own RRD 2.25 inch IFP shocks, designed and built in-house: hard anodized fluted aluminum body (2.25 inch O.D., with the cooling surface of a 2.5 inch shock), 3/4 inch 17-4 PH stainless steel hard chrome shaft, billet aluminum valving, dual DU shaft bearings and double redundant sealing. Serviceable, rebuildable and revalveable. Rock Krawler lists generic shock lengths of 17.5 inches collapsed / 29.5 extended in front and 18.5 / 30.5 in the rear. Bump stops are included.
  • Comp Coilover Stage 1: Coilovers in front, coil springs in the rear: RRD 2.625 inch RR coilovers with remote reservoirs up front (12 inch travel, 13.3 inches of front axle travel) and matching RRD 2.625 inch remote reservoir shocks in the rear (11.5 inch travel, 12.8 inches of rear axle travel). Rock Krawler pitches the Comp System at drivers who want coilover racing shocks up front but still carry small loads or tow small trailers.
  • Comp Coilover Stage 2 (Fast CD): The Stage 1 Comp layout with Fast CD (compression damping) adjusters on the front coilovers and rear shocks (RRD 2.625 inch FCD) for finer tuning. Travel figures match Stage 1.
  • Trail Runner Stage 1: Coilovers at all four corners: RRD 2.625 inch RR coilovers with remote reservoirs, 12 inch travel up front (13.3 inches of front axle travel) and 11 inch travel in the rear. Rock Krawler notes that rear coilovers excel off road but handle changing loads poorly, so towing or heavy bed loads are not ideal.
  • Trail Runner Stage 2 (Fast CD): The Trail Runner layout with Fast CD (compression damping) adjusters on the coilovers (RRD 2.625 inch FCD) for finer tuning. Travel figures match Stage 1.

Fitment and what else you'll need

  • Fits the 4-door Wrangler JLU diesel, Rubicon trims, 4WD.
  • Engine listed by Rock Krawler: 3.0L Eco-Diesel.
  • Wheels - Rubicon: 37 inch tall tires - recommend 4.5 inch of back spacing; 40 inch tall tires - recommend 3.5 inch of back spacing
  • Tires - Rubicon with full OEM fenders: 37/38 inch tall tires (3 inch bump stop height recommended)
  • Tires - Rubicon with trimmed or high lined OEM fenders: 40 inch tall tires (3 inch bump stop height recommended)
  • Lift height: Rock Krawler bases lift heights on Rubicon models in a standard build (front bumper and winch, rear bumper, full-size spare). With a spare delete, drop 1 inch of rear coil lift height; for a heavily upfitted rear, go up 1 inch.
  • Installation and setup notes from Rock Krawler: Recommend a new front C.V. driveshaft for all front shocks with max. extended length greater than 29 inch. Requires welding of the Front and Rear Long Arm Mounts. Requires removal of the OEM frame side lower front and rear control arm mounts. Requires removal of the OEM frame side front and rear upper control arm mounts. Requires removal of the OEM axle side rear lower control arm and track bar mounts. Requires modifying the OEM rear shock mounts and welding of the raised rear upper shock mounts. Recommend installing limiting straps to avoid over extension of suspension components after vehicle is all set up.
  • Coilover package notes: Requires modifying the OEM front and rear shock mounts and welding of the raised rear upper shock mounts.
