Package

Drive Right is the Rock Krawler 2.5 inch kit for people who care about how the 2-door Wrangler JL (gas) drives after the lift. It corrects and optimizes the factory geometry instead of only adding height: adjustable front lower control arms, an adjustable front track bar, a rear track bar relocation bracket and triple-rate coils.

What's in the kit

  • (4) triple-rate coil springs
  • (2) front adjustable lower control arms
  • (2) front spring pads
  • (1) adjustable front track bar
  • (2) rear spring pads
  • (2) adjustable rear sway bar links
  • (1) bolt-on rear track bar relocation bracket (supplied depending on the shock package)
  • Bump stops (included with every shock option; sold separately if you buy the kit with no shocks)

Why this system

  • Geometry first, height second: The listing says this kit corrects and optimizes the factory geometry rather than just adding height.
  • Axles recentered: The adjustable front track bar and the raised rear bracket put both axles back under the Jeep, which Rock Krawler says eliminates dog tracking. Rear roll center improves too.
  • High-clearance adjustable front lowers: They give you caster and cross-caster adjustment while keeping the wheelbase. Adjustable uppers shorten the wheelbase as you add caster, which is why Rock Krawler points to the lowers.
  • Triple-rate coils: Four coils tuned for the application. Rock Krawler says they ride better on the street than the factory linear-rate springs, and they carry enough free length to stay seated when the axle droops, as long as you run a proper length shock.
  • Spring correction pads: These take the coil bow out of the factory setup and help with vehicle lean.
  • Upgrade path: These kits are upgradable to Rock Krawler's long-arm system later, so you are not boxed in.
  • Warranty: Rock Krawler lists lifetime warranty coverage on the kit.

Pick your package

  • Base System (No Shocks): The complete kit with no shocks. Bump stops are not included on this option (Rock Krawler sells them separately). Pick it if you already have shocks picked out. Whatever you run, it needs to be a proper length so the coil stays seated.
  • Bilstein 5100 Shocks: The kit plus a set of maintenance-free Bilstein 5100 shocks, which Rock Krawler describes as a good pairing with its multi-rate coils. Bump stops are included.
  • Stage 1 - RRD 2.25 IFP Shocks: The kit plus Rock Krawler's in-house RRD 2.25 inch IFP shocks. The body is hard-anodized aluminum with the cooling surface of a 2.5 inch shock, the shaft is 3/4 inch 17-4 PH stainless, and the valving is billet aluminum with dual DU shaft bearings. They are serviceable, rebuildable and revalvable. Bump stops are included.
  • Stage 2 - RRD 2.25 FCD Shocks: The Stage 1 shock plus a Fast Compression Dampening (FCD) adjuster on a remote reservoir. Rock Krawler says the FCD adjuster adds up to 30 percent more compression damping with infinite settings, so you can firm the ride up for the trail or the highway without pulling a shock off.

Fitment and what else you will need

  • Vehicle: 2018 to present Jeep Wrangler JL 2-door, 4WD. Rock Krawler lists the 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder, the 3.6L Pentastar V6 and the 3.6L Pentastar with eTorque, all 4WD gas.
  • Tires and wheels: Sport and Sahara, 37/38 inch tires with 3.5 inch backspacing (37 inch on full OEM fenders, 38 inch on trimmed or high-lined fenders). Rubicon, 37 inch tires with 4.5 inch backspacing or 40 inch tires with 3.5 inch (37/38 inch on full OEM fenders, 40 inch on trimmed or high-lined fenders). A 3 inch bump stop height is recommended for all of them.
  • Lift height basis: Rock Krawler measures lift on a Rubicon with a front bumper and winch, a rear bumper and a full-size spare. If you delete the spare, drop the rear coil lift height by 1 inch. If the rear is heavily built up (overland gear), raise it by 1 inch.
  • Driveshaft: Rock Krawler recommends a new front driveshaft if you off-road regularly.
