The PRP 5.2 Cam-Lock Harness with Ratchet Straps (SFI 16.1) is a 5-point racing harness built around PRP's Cam-Lock buckle, a twist-and-thumb-release design that opens with a quarter turn instead of the flip-latch action of a Latch & Link buckle. The buckle uses PRP's CleanLatch Technology, dust-resistant seals around the locking mechanism that keep dirt, mud, and grit from working their way in and fouling the release, which matters a lot more off-road than it would on pavement. The harness also uses PRP's V-Shape Technology, a belt geometry designed to spread load more evenly across your shoulders and hips in a hard impact rather than concentrating it at a single point.

What separates this model from the standard 5.2 Cam-Lock harness is the integrated ratcheting lap belt system. Instead of pulling a webbing tail through the lap buckle to snug it down, you crank a ratchet built into each lap belt to take up slack in small, precise increments, so you get the same tension every time you strap in instead of eyeballing it. The shoulder side gets its own upgrade with oversized red pull tabs on the shoulder adjusters, and the lap belts carry matching red pull tabs, so the release points are easy to find and grab even one-handed or in low light.

The shoulder pads are removable and HANS-compatible, meaning you can pull them for a HANS or similar neck restraint device or leave them on for street and casual off-road use where you're not running a neck restraint. The 5th-point strap is also removable and has its own adjuster, so you can dial in exactly how much anti-submarine protection you want or leave it off entirely if your seat and cage setup don't call for a true 5-point configuration. PRP builds this harness with lightweight black hardware throughout, and includes a loop for routing a communication line or hydration tube so you're not improvising a mounting point mid-build.

This harness is SFI 16.1 certified, the specification most off-road racing sanctioning bodies and many closed-course and track day events require for a 5-point restraint, so it's tested and rated to a defined standard rather than just labeled for racing.

If you're weighing this against PRP's other 5.2 harnesses, the closest comparison is the standard 5.2 Cam-Lock (SFI 16.1), which has the same CleanLatch and V-Shape buckle system but uses a standard pull-up lap belt instead of the ratchet. There's also PRP's 5.2 Latch & Link Ratchet, which gives you the same ratcheting lap belt tension but with a Latch & Link buckle instead of Cam-Lock. Picking between them really comes down to which buckle action you prefer and whether the ratchet's fine-tuned tensioning is worth the step up from a standard pull-up lap belt.

What's included: two ratcheting lap belts with red pull tabs, two shoulder belts with upgraded red-tab adjusters, removable HANS-compatible shoulder pads, a removable adjustable 5th-point strap, and lightweight black mounting hardware.

Key specs at a glance: 5-point harness, Cam-Lock buckle with CleanLatch Technology, V-Shape Technology, 2" shoulder and lap belts with integrated ratchet tensioning, removable HANS-compatible pads, SFI 16.1 certified.
