The PRP 4.2 Harness Latch & Link is a 4-point restraint built for daily off-road driving rather than sanctioned racing, using 2" shoulder belts and 2" lap belts with PRP's Latch & Link buckle system. PRP updated the buckle on this version, calling it a new upgraded Latch & Link mechanism, and paired it with V-Shape Technology, a belt geometry designed to spread load more evenly across your shoulders for better occupant retention than a straight strap layout.

This harness is built around all-weather performance, meaning the materials and hardware are meant to keep functioning after real exposure to dirt, dust, mud, and water rather than just looking the part in a showroom. The steel hardware is skeletonized to cut weight without giving up strength, and the 3-bar adjusters are a simple, proven mechanism for taking up slack in the shoulder belts. Shoulder length adjustments themselves go through PRP's upgraded EZ Adjusters, which are built to move smoothly and quickly instead of binding up the way older cam-style adjusters can after they've seen some mud.

Comfort features here include sewn-in shoulder pads, which won't shift or bunch the way a separate slip-on pad can over a long trail day, and a sternum strap that pulls the shoulder belts together across your chest to keep them aligned and stable instead of sliding toward your shoulders or neck under load. Hook-and-loop strap keepers manage the excess webbing tail so it's not flapping around the cabin or catching on gear.

For mounting, this harness uses bolt-in tabs as the standard configuration, with clip-in tabs sold separately by PRP for vehicles using eyebolts instead of bolted mounting points.

It's worth noting this particular harness isn't SFI rated — PRP reserves that certification for its 5-point harnesses and specific SFI 16.1 5-point models, so if you're racing in a sanctioned event that requires a certified restraint, you'll want one of PRP's SFI 16.1 5-point harnesses instead. For a daily-driven UTV, off-road truck, or trail rig where you want a real upgrade over factory belts without needing sanctioning-body paperwork, this 4-point Latch & Link is built for exactly that role.

If you want the same buckle system and V-Shape geometry with wider webbing, PRP's 4.3 Harness Latch & Link uses 3" shoulder and lap belts instead of the 2" belts here, which some drivers prefer for comfort on longer seat time. Both are 4-point, non-SFI harnesses aimed at the same daily-driver use case, so the choice mostly comes down to belt width preference.

If you're deciding between a 4-point and 5-point harness in general, the difference comes down to the 5th-point anti-submarine strap: a 4-point harness like this one restrains your shoulders and hips, while a 5-point adds a strap between your legs to stop you from sliding under the lap belt in a hard frontal impact. For moderate trail driving and daily off-road use, 4-point coverage is a significant step up from stock belts; for wheeling that involves real jump or rollover risk, PRP's 5-point line is the safer call. This harness is available in ten colors — black, blue, green, gold, orange, pink, purple, red, silver, and yellow — so it's easy to match to a seat, cage, or interior color scheme.

What's included: two lap belts, two shoulder belts with EZ adjusters and sewn-in pads, a sternum strap, and bolt-in mounting hardware.

Key specs at a glance: 4-point harness, upgraded Latch & Link buckle, 2" shoulder and lap belts, V-Shape Technology, skeletonized steel hardware, all-weather construction, bolt-in tabs standard.
