This is the Dynatrac rear axle parking brake cable kit for Jeep JK, JL and JT models fitted with a Dynatrac rear axle. It comes in 12 versions, SKUs DT JP60-1X2A635 through DT JP60-1X2A646. Dynatrac lists the kit contents as hardware and the parking cable, and notes that the photo shows a JL kit and that not every version includes the same components.
How the three options work
- Vehicle platform: JK, JL or JT.
- Factory engine: Gas 3.8/3.6/4T, or Diesel or 392. Dynatrac does not say what changes between the two, so pick the one that matches how your Jeep left the factory.
- Rear brake setup from Dynatrac: Ford FoMoCo F-150 or Mopar J8. This refers to the rear brakes that came on your Dynatrac axle. Dynatrac's install sheets say J8 brakes are not compatible with ProFloat axles, while the 2015 F-150 style brakes are.

Check before you order
Confirm which rear brake setup is on your Dynatrac axle before choosing the F-150 or J8 version. Dynatrac's JK instruction sheet also has a note for 2-door JKs with J8 brakes, which calls for factory 4-door cables (Mopar 52060204AG), so ask Dynatrac if that is your setup.
Install notes from Dynatrac's instructions
- The job means pulling the center console to reach the handbrake equalizer inside the cab. On a JK, put the brake lever fully up before removing the console or you can break the brush around the lever opening.
- Keep the cable away from the exhaust, driveshaft, tires, pinch points, sharp edges and brake lines.
- Use a calibrated torque wrench on all fasteners.
- On the JL and JT sheets, Dynatrac has you pull the handbrake at least 9 clicks, hold it for a minute, then readjust. The cables can stretch and settle, so expect to recheck the adjustment.
